Five Nights at Freddy’s

The Movie

Mike is the exhausted new security guard for Freddy Fazbear’s Pizzeria. Caring for his younger sister alone and consistently plagued by nightmares causes his life to be ever more stressful. Actually, it’s just one nightmare. Repeating. Every. Night. About the same subject.

His brother.

Garrett’s kidnapping haunts Mike’s dreams. But pretty soon that’s not the only thing haunting him. His new graveyard shift seems to be fairly uneventful. Watch the monitors of the pizzeria and keep out those who would seek to vandalize the place. But what about what’s inside?

Fazbear’s history may not be as simple as a defunct restaurant with its beginnings in the 80’s. Pretty soon Mike is forced to delve into what caused the shutdown and how it could possibly involve his worst nightmare. And even worse, his little sister, Abby.

With the help of a police officer, who has a strangely accurate knowledge of the situation, Mike and his sister manage to unravel the tangled yarn of Freddy’s and its murderous animatronics. Or are they friends?

Anyone who has played the games or watched it via YouTube will be extremely familiar with not only the story, but also some of the fun cameos. Certainly targeted towards that demographic, I would caution young ones maybe not to view it. There are some violent moments and scary themes.

While many who are die-hard 80’s horror movie fans may find the movie lacking for horror and gore elements. However, those who know and enjoy the games will definitely appreciate it.

The Witcher : The Last Wish

by Andrzej Sapkowski

Gerald of Rivia is a witcher. A mutation. Magical, yet without all the romantic notions and weird hats. His entire existence focuses on being a supernatural mercenary. Kill the kikimora, turn a profit. Vanquish the cursed princess, and the king pays. There’s also the reversing of curses he attends to…for a price.

Keeping to the side roads and byways, the Witcher makes his way through the Continent ensuring dangers are kept in check. Sometimes finding beasts right on his journey. Certainly encountering quite the colorful, eccentric, and, on occasion, quite attractive individuals. All of which can create numerous entanglements and complications. Once in a blue moon an acquaintance may prove useful.

The Last Wish introduces us to Geralt and his dry wit. Loathe to get involved in personal matters, the cunning witcher manages to solve the affairs of humanity for better or worse. But when he meets the roguish sorceress Yennifer, he may become more involved than he ever anticipated. What is Geralt of Rivia’s deepest wish? Humanity? Power? Riches?

Find out through the short stories of The Last Wish. (And just FYI, read the entire thing. It comes full circle. ;))

Yeah, Let’s Not | A Moratorium on Word Vomit

It was the most beautiful fall day full of wonder and magic. While pondering these things, the writer’s eloquent side began to take over. A desire to fill page after page with words, thoughts, and ideas seized her and she picked up her laptop and then……

Yup… Nothing. Or as my little guy puts it, “Nuh-Un”.

And I know why. It’s not that I’ve lost the ability to feel and think beautiful things, but writing them? Nah. OR reading them? Again, no. It’s that I’ve been in a season where reading, writing, and blogging/vlogging have been put on a burner so far back that everything has grown cold. And nobody likes cold soup. (Don’t be that weirdo who likes cold soup. It’s another level of strangeness we’re not going to address… in this post.)

Back on track…

Having been in said season for so long my writing skills are… lackluster at best, mud at worst. Possibly just floating minerals at this point barely able to dream of one day becoming a gem. Finding the actual time Making time to study and hone these skills has been resolved into a hobby at this point.

Which makes the revamp of this blog so tempting to word vomit on. Yet, while tempting, I endeavor to keep this space in some semblance of organized chaos. With the chaos being precisely orchestrated, of course! 🙂

But the more one reads, the more one writes. The more one writes the more practice writing one gains. (Notice I didn’t say the better one gets at writing.) Without focus and disciplines in the minutia one will fail to better oneself. I cannot get any better without studying what has rusted to begin with.

Expressing coherent thoughts has, these days, become quite the ongoing battle. I’ve also struggled with the ability to structure them out in my mind. Though, I haven’t needed to either. Let’s just say, teaching children how to manage their emotions, meeting their needs, and homeschooling certainly utilizes the brain in other, equally valid, ways. So, yes, while my days have been filled with many studies, I have also dropped my focus in others.

I would also like to, in an odd way, encourage you as well. I’ve been in this season for approximately 7 years. More intensely around year 3. I cannot tell you how lost I have been before. Reading and writing were a restful garden I was given to escape the day to day monotony. Yet, once the days were filled with a long and sanctifying journey, I had to learn about where true gardens needed planting and how to tend them. ( I also ended up with about a million tomatoes and cucumbers.)

So, my dear friends, know that seasons do, in fact, change. It’s okay to shake off the dust and change with them. Today I actually considered wearing socks with Crocs, if that gives you any encouragement to do something completely heinous. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying to abandon ship (although I’ve certainly wanted to before), but maybe it’s okay to do a little dance while the ship faces the tempest.

The seasons will, eventually, change again and who knows, you may find yourself growing and thriving more than one garden.

Have a good one!

New Look, Who Dis?

Hi!

It’s 2023 and this year has been very unique. But first… check out my new layout! Isn’t she pretty!! She was sorely due for an update. I’ve also updated my links on the Sharing Is Caring page. I did remove a few scattered posts just because I really want to take this blog back to its roots. While I still intend on posting things I believe you guys will enjoy, I also want to do this for me.

I’ve found in this crazy world we live in people are so afraid to just talk freely. This is going to be my space for that freedom. It will primarily focus on various entertainment forms (not including mainstream Hollywood). It may also drift towards plants because… I have a sickness for everything plants, but in general I want to aim for book reviews and writing advice.

If you’re new here, WELCOME! I hope you take some time to poke around and find something you like! If you’re one of the OG followers, THANK YOU so much for sticking around. I truly appreciate every one of you and am thankful for all of your engagement throughout the years.

Anyway…. Have a good one!
