And can I just say each of these books is amazing!!! Soo many good stories I have to divvy up my attention so one doesn’t capture me more than the others. Guys you have to read these series! They are just too good to miss! Anyway, let me get back to my work. (Because my place of employment merely pays my bills so I can buy more literature!)

DLC For Injustice!

He’s Superman’s nemesis. He’s vile. He’s tough. He’s….

General Zod!

I’m really excited after viewing the trailer, which I totally encourage you to do. This guy kicks major butt!

I’m not sure on the release date just yet but I’ll keep my eye out.

Have a good one!

Man Of Steel

Yesterday we took my dad to see this movie for Father’s Day. It was quite the day trip.

This movie begins in the middle. Or so it seems. From the ads on television I presumed we would meet our young Clark as a child and journey through life with him. Instead we begin with adult Clark and his many jobs.

As the movie progressed you learn about Clark’s past as well as the story of his people on Krypton. For the longest time it feels like a lot of flashbacks and not much current events, aside from Lois and her research.

But it did get to the main story finally and you begin to learn why the flashbacks were valid. That the Krypton leaders had made decisions which seemingly led to their civilization’s demise. Thus producing Zod, our main villain.

As we all know Clark, aka Kell El, was sent to Earth. Zod, having committed crimes against the Krypton authorities had been exiled (more or less). After Krypton’s destruction neither Clark nor Zod had any place to call home. Zod, however, knew about Kell El’s existence and went in search of him.

Our movie leads us through their meeting and response to the situation at hand, what to do about their existence. Ultimately Clark must make the decision his father on Earth had known all along he’d have to make. Save humanity or destroy it for his people’s future.

I have to say it got a little soap-opera like throughout the story. Awkward pauses and sudden intimate moments pop up during the most vital plot points. But over all it was a good movie.

Clark’s struggle with when and how to use his powers brings you to that pinnacle of emotion. How can you keep who you are a secret when it means life or death? Take a leap of faith for possible acceptance or stay hidden and people die?

I would have to give this movie an eight out of ten. It is a very awesome version of Superman, the best I’ve ever seen thus far. And I look forward to up and coming sequels. (By the way, there is no clip after the credits. That’s a Marvel thing.) So find the cheapest tickets you can and certainly go see this film.

Coincidences While Reading…*Spoiler Warning*

So I’m pulling out all the stops and reading four books at a time when something strange happens….

In the Jane True Tempest series the main villain *spoiler alert* is named Morrigan. She is an evil woman with cruel intentions.

Not impressed? Let’s continue….

In the Cheyenne Timeless series Maes, a very conniving character, compares crows with a legend of the goddess of war…. Morrigan. What a coinky-dink!

In the Tempest series she is transformed into a dragon. Yet another flying creature.

Fun fact!

Top Three

I finally picked up my copy of Daylight and peeked into it. As I moved through the lines my emotions were thrown for a loop. I was very intrigued and trapped. I am only 8% into this story and I have forgotten just how talented Lisa Wiedmeier is at weaving a tale. She has bound my hand to my kindle and refused to let go.

So… since I’m already tied to the thing let me tell you what else I flip to…

With All My Soul is the conclusion to the beloved Soul Screamers series. With this final novel I am itching for the end. I mean that in the best way. These characters have been through more than their share of hardships and loss. Every moment of love and pain are brought to light. Ms. Vincent has promised a deserving conclusion to the books and I look forward to getting to it. Kaylee deserves that, as does sweet Emma.

And finally… I have been working on Enclave. It’s a post-apocalyptic novel with zombies, what more could you ask for? It’s slow to capture me but I have been reassured by a very reliable source that it is worth the read. I mean The Host and The Hunger Games were slow starters as well, for me at least.

Finale has been placed on the back burner for a bit. Not for lack of interest, but these books are so full of depth that I needed a short break before tackling the end. I know, you’re probably saying, “C’mon!” but I promise to finish it as soon as I can.
