OH MY GOD!!!! This book is awesome!!!
It’s Kaylee’s turn. She’s been living on borrowed time until now and it has come to an end. If you knew you only had a week to live what would you do? Kaylee has to tie up all her loose ends but that’s always easier said than done.
When a new math teacher is assigned Sabina knows he’s not normal. And when an above average student has a miscarriage in his class the new investigation begins. Kaylee is determined to solve the puzzle before she runs out of time and to protect everyone she cares about in the process. Everyone is on the lookout but keeping them focused is difficult while they spend their last days with Kaylee.
As things between her and Nash crumble Kaylee decides that the rules no longer apply. Everything begins to change. She’s neglecting homework, eating junk food, calling on enemies, and going further with guys than she ever would have before. But even in death some rules should still apply. And Tod is there to remind her. Now she needs him more than ever. With him she faces down old fears and learns to look her biggest one in the face. No one else is better for the job.
But time is dwindling down and things are getting more and more out of hand. Reapers aren’t always nice, love isn’t always what it seems, and time is of the essence. But how can new relationships begin when her life is about to end?
In this EPIC installment to the Soul Screamers series I felt so entranced. It drew me in and all I could do is white knuckle it. Even as you follow Kaylee in her last days you feel every moment. You count with her. You cry with her. You love with her. It’s like free-falling down on a roller coaster. And if you don’t get to the end of the story screaming, cheering, and crying then you’ve missed it all together.
It’s a ten out of ten for me. I read it in less than a week because I felt like time WAS of the essence. If you have read the others then this book has everything you’ve been waiting for. Maybe it just takes something tragic to put things into prospective. TAKE THE TIME!!!
And improved! As always RealNerdWorms is always under construction. This time I’ve changed our look! I am hoping it will make the site more user-friendly and make you want to share it with more friends! Love ya’ll!
I hate being slow to post! I’m sure you hate it too. But hey cut me some slack, it was valentines after all. Just kidding! Anyway, let me add one more for the day!
I am about to begin reading Finale. Super excited! Also, I will be taking on the next Soul Screamers book. So no need to fear I’m still on track. Though, alas I fear the Tempest book won’t be out until May.
However, in more exciting news… HIM is planning on coming to the U.S. on tour soon! Their next album, Tears on Tape, will be released on April 30th here in the states and Canada. They just wrapped up in New York and will be announcing their upcoming tour next week. (But for the little jerks who don’t know who HIM is let me give you a little bio. H.I.M. is the first Finnish Band to go platinum in the U.S. They are considered a “Love Metal” band. From their FB site: Razor & Tie A&R Executive Mike Gitter adds, “Few artists are able to tap into rock at its most emotional and forlorn and make it sound so damn uplifting and powerful. That’s Ville Valo and HIM’s stock-in-trade. They take the rawest of emotions and channel them into unforgettable anthems- invoking the spirit of great rock n roll in the process.” – I fully agree. )
Also, I’m putting up some anime stuff (I know, I very rarely do this). I recently stumbled across this little silly nugget on NetFlix. Rosario + Vampire. Check it out! It’s funny and a little twisted.
Anyway, before my laptop dies that’s our latest and greatest! Late!

What’s going on? Who are you? Where am I? What is today?
These are the questions Nora wants answered. It seems she’s been gone for eleven weeks with no idea of what happened. And worse yet, she doesn’t remember some of the days prior to disappearing either. While her mother is understandably more protective, her best friend, Vee, isn’t much help either. Even she seems to be in mother bear mode. But why is her guy obsessed BFF now swearing off men? Something is missing besides her memory and Nora wants to get it back.
It would seem, though, that while she was gone her mother was getting cozy with her worst enemy. There’s something about Mr. Millar Nora knows she can’t trust. But until her memory returns she has no choice but to let the chips fall. That is, until she stumbles into some violent men behind a Seven Eleven. And when a man in white saves her and talks about Nephilim she wants answers. But the only thing Nora has any recollection of is black. It’s overwhelming her senses. And the black feather she found.
But when Nora runs into an old friend the bridge in her mind begins to piece itself back together. Scott gives her the rundown of her life prior to her mental gap. Explaining Nephilim, Fallen Angles, The Black Hand, Rixon…and some guy named Patch.
After learning all of this, Nora ends up unraveling a whole web of lies. Including who the man in white truly is. And knows she must play is cool to keep those she cares about most safe. While her memory is slow to catch up there’s one who knows that somethings only a pair of scars will tell you.
In this fascinating continuation to the Hush, Hush series blood lines are crossed, heroes made villains, and liars are to be believed. Sometimes things aren’t always what they seem. And hard decisions must be made.
I get caught up every time in Becca Fitzpatrick’s world. I give this book a nine out of ten. Every proverbial page I turn leads me deeper into the darkness. I mean, can we ever get enough of Patch? I think not. If you are following me I suggest you read this installment. Definitely take the time.
I’m still working on my “front burner” books. Just wanted to give you guys an update.
I’m in the middle of Silence by Becca Fitzpatrick with a review coming up. I am loving this series all over again, as is my cousin. She has devoured the first and is endeavoring to trek through the second one, so I am rushing to finish the third before she steals it too!
I had finished Crescendo so quickly I thought I’d fly through this one as well. And I bet you guys were thinking, “well she reads slow so it’ll be a while”. But alas, no. As I mentioned in my about page I have a day job so I have to put aside literature from time to time. While I am grateful for the pick up in business, it has postponed some of my reviews.
But a super exciting event came about while I’ve been away. I WENT TO THE BOOK STORE!!! And you’re drawing a blank. You’re wondering, you just visited a book store? This is a rarity for me. Since our massive Borders closed (moment of silence please…….) we have no book stores. That’s right, no book stores!!! And while Amazon and other online e-book providers exist it’s simply not the same. So when I do get to travel to the nearest vender it’s kind of a big deal.
And last but hopefully not least, I am still working on my own story. I’m very excited!! I have learned that hand writing the piece brings more inspiration. I focus more and come up with funnier bits. I hope to some day share the work with you! But until then, late!
