My Soul To Take

By Rachel Vincent

Ok let’s start with this, Twilight fans will like this book probably (or so say the reviews). Really liked this book.

Kaylee lives with her aunt, uncle, and cousin. Her mother died when she was very young and her father moved away to Ireland, though visits every so often. But when she begins having screaming fits her family treats her as if she’s crazy. Going so far as to send her to a hospital during her last episode.

Lately she’s started having them even more often as her classmates drop dead around her. And there may be someone near to her who has an idea of what’s going on. He’s only one of the hottest guys in school, whose eyes…swirl? Why doesn’t he run from her seeming insanity? And how is he able to calm her in the midst of her desire to scream?

When things begin to come out in the open she learns that the world is much weirder than she may have ever dreamed. In this world people are born and people die at their scheduled time. But something’s wrong. Could the popular girls be dying before their time? And where does Kaylee fit into this new world?

This story is one I’ve been interested in finding. It is a series that I intend on tackling. I was trapped in the world Rachel Vincent created. It is very ethereal and fascinating. I am dying to know more about all of these characters. They all have an amazing story to tell.

So why should you read this book? Because it’s got the sci-fi/ fantasy feel with a pretty good story line. So you have the romance, the mystery, and the curiosity to know more. Even if you didn’t like the Twilight books check this out. It has more depth and I didn’t want to put it down.

On a scale from one to ten I give this book a nine. The first chapter I was thinking, ‘another one of these books?’. But when I finished the sample I had to buy the whole book. So, try it, buy it, and of course, take the time!
